Preparatory Enthusiasm – MA Subjects

Posted in Aesthetics, Film & film theory, Narratives, New media by Rachel on June 13, 2008

My readings, preoccupations, output, from September 1 2008 – end June 09 all from the MA in Cinema Studies, Uni of Amsterdam.

SUBJECTS: both -

1. Body, Senses and the Moving Image

2. Media Archaeology

RESEARCH SEMINAR – one of these:

1. Black Box, White Cube Cinema in the Museum, The Museum in Cinema (eurgh)

2. Filmmakers in an Age of Critical Discourse (this one I expect, pending strength of first lecture)

3. Photography and Film

4. Film and Religion

ELECTIVES: one of these – of course the first, but will try sit in on the second, which looks great:

1. Fictional events and actual emotions

2. Pictorial and Multi-modal metaphor in film and other media

Accom is v. high demand in Amsterdam so I have applied for a little Uni-subsidized student flat “somewhere inside of Amsterdam” (luck of the draw) with “strong preference” for no other occupants. And yes. Excitement registers.

Just make sure the uni subsidised flat in Amsterdam isn’t a window facing onto the street, okay.
